As Long as the Lemon Trees Grow was a rollercoaster, y’all. I held my breath pretty much the entire second half of the book. My knowledge of Middle Eastern events is verrrrry limited, so this book was quite the departure from what I normally read. Honestly, as far as impactful stories go, I’d rate this one high with The Women which is one of my favorite books of all time. Oh hey! Long time no see. It’s the most wonderful time of the year and all that jazz. The time of year where I stay up way past my bed time because the fact that it gets dark at 5:00 now means I generally have no idea what time it is anymore. The time of year when the season depression is kept at bay by Mariah Carey, my Christmas tree, and my closed door romcoms. Am I allowed to post teacher content here since I teach about books? I’m gonna go with yes😂 Tell me below if you want to see more teacher content! I went into this book thinking it was only 300-400 pages. Ah. No. It’s a whopping 898 pages!! It took me a whole week to get through ninety pages of Anna Karenina in high school. There was no way in HECK I was getting through this book last night. This book made me ugly cry. It also about near gave me an aneurysm toward the end of it. I’m willing to overlook both things to crown this book as my favorite fantasy book that I’ve read. This book made me miss being in grad school😂 I actually had this post ready to go a month ago…whoops😂 Happy first day of FALL!!
